Book Review: 'Guruji’s Ashram' by Sunil Sinha

VERDICT: Through Guruji’s Ashram Sunil Sinha has touched upon intricacies of the individuals who take recourse to religion to hide from their mistakes. It is a gripping and realistic thriller.

REVIEW: The story from the start till the end is scintillating. It grips you when you want to take a break. There are character sketches that are well developed by the author like: Minakshi, Rashmi and Tapas. The author has nevertheless dealt with very sensitive themes; greed, escapism and religiosity into the highlight. Grammar and language could have been improved if more attention was given to it. The cover page is not that attractive as compared to the story within the book. The author could have done well to avoid the intimate scenes which look out of place.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sunil Sinha was born in Jamshedpur and brought up in Rourkela, a steel township in Odisha. After completing his MA and LLB from Sambalpur University, Odisha, he worked with different private companies for a few years before starting his own business. Sunil has extensive experience in domestic and international trade. He has done business with buyers from many countries. He has also launched several new products and has experience in product development right from inception to sales. Sunil enjoys reading, travelling and adventure sports. Currently, he lives in Bangalore with his wife and children.
